Please pray for "D"

Just have to share this... it's time 😉. At the end of last summer I felt a significant prompting to find one of my former students. (I taught Kindergarten for 10 years before I had my Asher.) "D" was one who I had thought of many times throughout the years and one I had prayed for much since I met him as a 5 year old. I asked those teachers, principals and students I had been able to keep in contact with about him, Facebook searched, Googled and finally located him in the Oklahoma County Jail waiting on his trial for murder, up for life. I began writing him, encouraging him and continued praying for him. (Now, I was openly able to talk to him about Jesus.) In my first letter, I told him that I was an aide at my boys' school. He very adamantly told me that I should be teaching... he said, "Those kids need you, Miss Amy!" Those words penetrated my ❤️. I continued correspondence and in January my husband Tom and I went to his trial and prayed with him and his family. The trial was delayed and he ended up pleading to conspiracy of murder and signed for 20 years. (He is just 21 years old.). Since that first letter that "D" wrote me back, God began putting that teaching desire back into my heart. I asked God to lead me and prayed specifically for a Kindergarten opening to come if I was supposed to go back into full time teaching. Well... many of you know that happened and late last Spring I was offered the Kindergarten teacher position in the very room I was aiding in. We just completed day 4 of my comeback and I can't even tell you the joy I have! I am so thankful for this opportunity and for those words "D" shared that prompted me back! Please pray for "D"... for his safety, for HOPE that doesn't disappear and that he will be a LIGHT in a very dark place! (Just FYI... he got baptized last December right before Christmas while in jail). He also has a baby girl that was born since he was imprisoned. Pray for this little sweetie, too! Your prayers mean the world to me and to him! He counts on them every day!
