To Simplify...

To simplify... Many have a misconception that to simplify is to “dumb it down”... to me, that is completely opposite of what it really means to simplify. The essence of simplifying is finding the true importance and meaning and conveying that to another. I am a Kindergarten Teacher. Everyday I take things and make them easier to understand or do... I simplify. I take all the extra stuff away and make it important and understandable to my students. Not to “name-drop” BUT here are a couple of quotes from Einstein... "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough." “The definition of genius is taking the complex and making it simple.” In life, I have found this process so important, too. Our world gets more complex everyday. That does not mean better. It actually means our job to simplify becomes more and more important. This past year has brought some things that have really caused me to dissect life a little better. To focus on those things that are most important... in other words, to simplify. If I didn’t, it would all be too much. When I did, things fell into their proper place. When that happens... the important becomes priority. All other things fade into the background and real love happens. My true goal, my purpose, my reason for being on this earth becomes clear. I can see my Savior’s face... my destination, my Hope. This brings everything into right perspective... the challenges and the cheers! May this New Year be simplified for me and for you as we focus on what is truly important and really understand our purpose!
